Studio Visit with Chester Wallace

Selectism Columnist, Jeremy Dunn, gives a nice studio walk through with Portland, OR’s Chester Wallace, bag maker. “Before a recent trip back East I had the good fortune to pick up a Chester Wallace tote bag straight from its creator Patrick Long at his studio in Portland, OR. The Pdx cache of cool was apparent when running into the bags while traipsing about New York City. One with a red bottom stood out nicely against the green shelving in the Project No. 8 shop connected to the Ace Hotel. And once in Boston someone liked mine so much that they straight up tried to take it from me without me noticing. Which was a bit awkward, because I did.”

Courtney Love’s Vanidad, May 2010
In a (desperate) move to catch everyone’s attention (and their respective dogs attention), Courtney Love is pretty friendly with the media. I recently read she stated in a radio interview that Gwen Stefani’s husband, Gavin Rossdale, had a extra marital romantic relationship with Courtney. In the light of recent events, I doubt that hardly worries anyone. Bring on the next Gavin flame!
Getting back to Courtney: what caught my eye from her Vanidad May 2010 feature was the very cover! On Vanidad’s cover, Courtney is wearing that wonderful stripey blazer from Givenchy we’d love to have in our wardrobe too! Styled by Avena Gallagher, photographed by David Roemer, Courtney Love seems to live beyond time and space, without being affected by the passing of years. Do you think that might be because of the Givenchy blazer? (more images right after the jump! Click here for the gallery!) (via)

What day is it today, daaaahlings? My, it’s Converse day, biensur! Then again, every day is Converse day, right?

The Selby was in the following places: Charlie Casley-Hayford’s place (son of the father and son duo from Casley-Hayford), Clark James Gable’s place (grandson of the notorious Clark James Gable), Harry McNally’s place (from Pegleg NYC). He was there and he only saw smiling Jack Purcell Converse sneakers. Which he photographed and brought back to us! And if you’re not entirely convinced that the Purcell Converse are really worth smiling at/for, take a look at the Sailcloth Purcell below! What say you?
