Ferris Bueller Ferrari Up for Auction

Well it’s not a real Ferrari 250GT Spyder California but a replica John Hughs had made for the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off movie. More from Retrotogo: ”It’s a Ferrari 250GT Spyder California, but not a real one – only 100 of the original were made between 1958 and 1963, making it super-rare, so John Hughes and Paramount actually had a replica made for filming. Which is the one being sold off now. Just think, you too could be careering around the city in that same car – but you’ll not have to worry about the mileage or your parents.”

Greenpoint Jewelry Store Old Hollywood Joining the Limelight Marketplace

Greenpoint accessories shop Old Hollywood is the latest addition to the Limelight Marketplace — the only jewelry vendor in the three-story retail complex so far. It’s a step up from owner Tiffany Porter’s 300-square-foot original location on Meserole Avenue: She’ll share the 12,000-square-foot Limelight with J. Sisters salon, a sneaker gallery, a gourmet market, and non-Brooklyn brands like LeSportsac and Brocade Home. Though she’s keeping her Greenpoint store open, Porter will introduce around fifteen new designers in the Limelight space, including Erica Weiner, Tom Tom Jewelry, In God We Trust, and Elizabeth Street. Will Style.com Go the Way of Men.Style.com?

Someone get this woman a laptop!
Interview‘s former managing editor Alexandra Mack will start at Vogue.com as managing editor this week. It’s the latest sign of Vogue.com beefing up for its final severing from Style.com. Vogue.com has added behind-the-scenes videos of photo shoots, and they force their top editors, like André Leon Talley and Hamish Bowles, to blog. They may only do so very sporadically, but, you know, the Internet is tough stuff for people so attached to paper. According to WWD, insiders are wondering if once Vogue.com officially weans off the Style.com teat, from which it is still suckling, Style.com will die, like Men.Style.com did last fall. (Condé instead decided to give GQ and Details their own sites.) Anna Wintour is editor-in-chief of Vogue.com. If she knew what was best for her and the site, she would treat her adoring fans to a blog post every now and then. Welcome to the Internet, Vogue! Dot-com! It’s a scary and mean place, but surely you can handle that.

Madonna Chats About “Material Girl” Her Mom-Daughter Fashion Line for Macy’s
This August, Macy’s will be getting a dose of dancefloor flair – jeans, shoes, fingerless gloves, necklaces & other accessories – when Material Girl launches as part of Madonna’s new company, MG ICON. The AP recently interviewed Madonna about the new junior’s line which draws inspiration from her dance roots.
AP: Why did you want to do a juniors’ line?
Madonna: Lola [Lourdes's nickname] has been bothering me for ages about designing clothes. Stella McCartney is a good friend of mine and she got her mind thinking when Lola was a little girl, about 8 years old. She started giving Lola fabrics and inviting her into her showroom and asking her opinion on things, giving her sketch books and stuff like that. Stella always pushed her. I have a lot of friends who are clothing designers whether it is Gaultier or Dolce and Gabbana. (Lola) has been around all of the shoots I have done and all of the campaigns I have done. She is always hanging out backstage. The last two tours I have done, she has been working in the wardrobe department. On this last tour she dressed all of the dancers.
