Porsche Celebrates 60 Years in the US Market
Has it been that long? Porsche celebrates 60 years of business on US shores way back in 195 when the first one rolled onto the streets of New York. “From the beginning, Dr. Ferry Porsche saw the limitations of selling his 356 sports car in the Western European markets. He knew in order to sustain and grow his dream, Porsche would have to export its products to larger, more affluent markets like the United States, which had been virtually untouched by World War II.” While we’re on the topic, I have a close friend who has totaled more Porsches than you can count on two fingers. He, for one, is still buying them. Why? Nothing drives like a Porsche.

Evan Lysacek Talks Cars With Ralph Lauren, Dreams of Designing Watches
Olympic figure skater and Dancing with the Stars competitor Evan Lysacek attended a cocktail party in his honor at the Ralph Lauren store in L.A. Tuesday night. He met Lauren for the first time last week, and the two chatted about “work, cars, life,” he said. (Do we think Ralph is a “DWTS” fan?)
Though he doesn’t have the same aspirations of fashion domination as fellow skater Johnny Weir, Lysacek does have a thing for fancy watches: If he could do anything in the fashion realm, he says he would design his own watch line. He has about fourteen in his collection, including a Rolex, an Omega, and a Louis Vuitton with a brown crocodile band.

Pierre Hardy Sandals For Gap Spring Summer 2010
Have I told you about those wedges I’m dreaming of this season? I misplaced my favorite pair of high heeled sandals (you know, changing houses can do that to one’s wardrobe!) and all I can think of right now (besides tearing the place upside down for the seventh time, searching my beloved sandals) is a chunky pair of “compensées” like the French say.
And where from if not the GAP? One of my favorite street fashion labels. They’ve been working with Pierre Hardy on their sixth season and the results look amazing! (besides the denim sandals pictured below, right after the jump you’ll see some more images from the collection’s Tokyo preview – needless to say, I’d like to have the dresses and pretty much everything they’re on to this Spring Summer 2010!).
