This Might Be the Preppiest Fashion Collaboration Ever (Updated)

Good news to all of those who enjoy nothing more than a pair of Nantucket red pants. Sperry Top-Sider is opening their first stores this year. As if whole stores filled with boat shoes wasn’t enough, they will also carry Tucker Blair belts. Surely you remember Tucker Blair, to which we introduced you in December. They make needlepoint belts for the guy who sits down at his desk in “some anonymous, beige office building,” sifts through Excel spreadsheets, and realizes he’d “give just about anything to be on the Cape with a beer and a pair of Croakies.” So this just might be the preppiest fashion collaboration in history. What if they make belts, headbands even, with little boat shoes on them? But just who is the Sperry Top-Sider Tucker Blair man? Who is that mind-blowingly preppy?
Freddie Fackelmayer, for one.

Vidal Sassoon The Movie Explores his Bauhaus-Inspired Revolution in Hair
From a London orphanage to internationally successful hair celeb, Vidal Sassoon began revolutionizing hair in the early 1960s with his newfangled, geometric hairstyles. In a new book & movie homage to this hair pioneer premiering at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival, Michael Gordon, founder of hair care company Bumble and bumble, sets out to document Vidal's life and the way his "wash and wear" philosophy literally changed the way women looked. "Vidal Sassoon's impact is so profound in so many ways, even forty years after his revolution, he is inarguably the most important person in hairdressing, ever," notes Gordon. "He is the ultimate hero. His life serves as an extraordinary inspiration to millions of people, reminding them what is possible with the right commitment and passion."
As the design of the book and film unfold, so do the fashions, style, and social revolutions of the 1960s. “For the past three years, I’ve been working on a documentary of my life, so I’ve been re-visiting experiences and places I haven’t been in decades," adds the man himself, Vidal Sassoon. "Looking back on my 82 years, and now with the acceptance of the film into the Tribeca Film Festival, I really can say, that the excitement has never stopped."
Haute Couture Skateboards
If you’re a fan of Haute Couture, then everything haute, including sports related gears, would seem appropriate for you to own! Actually using the haute objects is beyond purpose.
Kirk Henry’s skateboard design brings well known elements from established haute houses. Whether that will come to life (or in that particular shape) only time will show us. For now, I’m just enjoying the view and the oh-so-useful philosophy of getting everything Haute Couture can (or could) deliver. I promise to quietly go sip my drink from a silver straw if they make that Prada blossom skateboard! I won’t mind it’s last season! Oh-no!(via)

Gisele, the Baby, and THAT Bod on the Cover of Vogue
Only six weeks after giving birth, Gisele opened the doors to her Boston home to Vogue's Contributing Editor Joan Juliet Buck to share intimate details about shedding the baby weight (“I did kung fu up until two weeks before Benjamin was born, and yoga three days a week. I think a lot of people get pregnant and decide they can turn into garbage disposals. I was mindful about what I ate, and I gained only 30 pounds.”); her new beauty line developed to empower troubled young girls around the world; and the birth of her baby boy, Benjamin Rein (“I wanted him to be called River because I wanted something always flowing, immortal. My husband [New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady] said, ‘There’s no way we’re going to call him River.’ But my father’s name is Reinoldo, so it’s a homage to him. And it’s like water.”)
And as if her life isn't already enviable enough, the uber-mannequin was required to frolic for the accompanying portfolio for photographer Patrick Demarchelier on the beaches of Costa Rica.
Gisele Bundchen’s Vogue US April 2010
Curious about what Anna comes up with for Vogue’s next cover, I discovered, much to my surprise, that it was a model! And that’s a noble, yet rare thing to do, Anna!
However, there’s still to debate whether Gisele falls into the models category or is she just being transplanted to the “starland”! Why? All you have to do is read fragments of the web article to see the dream life she’s leading with a perfectly fit athlete and her perfectly harmonious spirit. Gisele Bundchen covers (and so much more) Vogue US April 2010! (the story continues right after the jump with more images! Click here for the gallery!)

Frankie Morello Menswear Fall 2010

The Fall 2010 Frankie Morello menswear show held at the Via Palermo was a huge spectacle. The theme was vampires and football. The models hit the runway wearing down-filled puffer jackets, asymmetric zippers and camouflage print jeans and jumpers. As well as denim kilts and blazers.
