Alicia Keys Hosts the 2010 Gotham Ball
New York was in an Empire State of Mind Monday night as Alicia Keys hosted Gotham Magazine’s annual Gotham Ball. The NYC native hosted the fete at Capitale, where guests like Busta Rhymes, model Julie Henderson and designer Catherine Malandrino enjoyed a performance from hip-hop violinist Miri Ben-Ari. Keys is on the cover of the March 2010 issue, which is the first under editor-in-chief Samantha Yanks. Yanks, who is a GlamChic favorite, started at Niche Media in 2004 and climbed the ranks in her fabulous heels to the top slot. The Spring Fashion issue features several unique interviews; Michael Kors interviewed Lincoln Center’s director of fashion Stephanie Winston Wolkoff and model Jessica Stam did the asking in a piece on designer Chrissie Miller. Madonna collaborate with Dolce & Gabbana
Madonna teams up with Dolce & Gabbana to launch eye wear collection called MDG. Six pairs of sunglasses have been designed and will be available in May. The campaign featuring Tyson Ballou was photographed by Steven Klein. “We’re so excited. This further strengthens our relationship with Madonna, and it was a very constructive experience for us,” said Gabbana in an interview. “Madonna is very exacting and a professional who seeks perfection in everything she does, and this was no exception.”

Kate Moss for Sport Relief
Kate Moss and William Tempest are teaming up to help save children from Malaria. They will hold the charity Sport Relief where a dress made from recycled mosquito nets will auction out. “I was shocked to hear that one child dies from malaria every 30 seconds,” Moss said. “The dress incorporates recycled malaria nets and is absolutely gorgeous, I loved wearing it and it’s a great way to raise awareness.”
