Rogues Gallery Autumn/Winter 2010

PTLDME previews the Autumn/Winter 2010 collection from Rogues Gallery. Our local favorites remain focused on developing goods for the everyman who cares to look good without moving too forward into the depths of fashion. With that said, you’ll find solid pieces from jackets to trousers. The model looks familiar as well.

Tina Fey Is in Full Bloom

After wearing a great Michael Kors look to the Oscars on Sunday and landing the cover of Vogue this month, Tina Fey continued her fashion surge when she wore a floral dress to the Nineteenth Annual Bunny Hop hosted by Society of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center at FAO Schwarz in New York last night. She completed the bright spring look with opaque black tights and black pumps.

#PFW: Moncler Gamme Rouge Fall 2010 Collection

Cold weather has never been so desirable. In the frigid Parisian air, the fashion set had the opportunity to check out Moncler’s latest collection of outerwear. Giambattista Valli presented his designs Tuesday afternoon just beside The Ritz in Paris. Looks were both futuristic and luxe, with several vignettes showcasing a variety of silhouettes. Fuzzy white jackets were lined up on identical mannequins, while a detailed orange puffer was highlighted in a vault. Short gray numbers were adorned with scale-like paillettes, while black coat dresses were enhanced with pleated adornments. Brooke Shields stopped by to greet Valli and scope out his creations. “These look very cozy!” she said. And we continue to think that Moncler is the chicest way to brave the elements! ~Nola Weinstein

That Chanel Iceberg Was Actually Made From ‘Snice’

Surprise! Yesterday’s Chanel show was just as spendy as it looked. Some facts on that runway centerpiece, the greatest piece of ice since, well, maybe this:
1. It weighed 265 tons and stood 28 feet high.
2. It was imported from northern Sweden just for the show.
3. It was composed of snow and ice, a combination that is apparently called “snice” in Chanel Land. And you thought snowicane was bad!
4. The Grand Palais where the show took place was kept at four degrees below Celsius (about 28 Fahrenheit) to keep the ice piece — possibly attendees — from melting.
5. The ‘berg was carved by 35 ice sculptors from around the world in six days.
But all the extravagance is the perfect mirror to the collection, which WWD reminds us “doesn’t come cheap,” even though Karl only used faux fur. Exorbitance is of little concern to Chanel. Last year’s sales were reportedly the best in the label’s history.
