Daniele Alessandrini Spring/Summer 2010

Daniele Alessandrini’s Spring/Summer 2010 offering feels like Mark Twainian wear to me for some reason. The modern-ified looks prepare the man for pond or lake fun. Roll up the cuffs get started. Note, some shorts are labelled as underpants on their site, so be steady when walking that fine line.

Simon Doonan on the Front-Row Bloggers

“I loved Thom Browne, especially the groovy new eyewear, but the shows this season were full of teen/tween bloggers. I feel like they are trying to nudge me out of my front-row seat. Luckily, I have a plan for next season. Since they are all about my height, I am going to impersonate one of them. I am going to wear a doily on my head (Tavi!) and tell everyone I am a teen blogger. If they ask why I am so wrinkled, I will tell them that I have progeria.” [GQ]

Frankie Morello Fall 2010
Frankie Morello’s Fall 2010 show is best described as sporty sexy. Tight body-con dresses with sharp shoulders, see-through blouses, cut-out details showing off the well-trained abs and embellishments gave the black little dresses a touch of Morello’s magic hands. Let us not forget about the quilted leather pieces, specially the one in shorts model and the floor-lenght coat with a high slits in the front. Pitch-black sunglasses was working their way down the catwalk together with the all-black collection. The overall-vibe was sexy italian and the italian tv-celebrities in the front row was more than happy to find several looks that would work their way into their wardrobe. The sleazy details and the provocatively sexy style isn’t the easiest to wear, but with a little bit of daring and a handful of confidence, this collection will be worn by very sexy females celebrating their womanly bodies (and their long, hard spent hours in the gym) to achieve one.

1a Classe Alviero Martini
A wild guess on what Alviero Martini’s view on fall 2010 would probably “back to earth”. At least that was my first thought when the first model appeared on the catwalk. Tone to tone, everything works together fine and different pieces was layered in a clean way which made everything work. The mix of materials in the same shade but different fabrics for example leather with suede and cotton with fur gave a smart contrast and added some kind of awareness to the styling. Love the fact that the maxi-skirt that’s been seen on several catwalks around the globe made a entrance to Milano via Alviero Martini. Flowing and wider when closer to the feet is a very flattering model and I was as mentioned happy to see it appear here. The highlight of the collection was without doubt the amazing capes or ponchos that came in heavy weights with the best of cuts and with dark warm colors used as a perfect drapes. Tone to tone, they looked simply amazing.

What Will Fashion Look Like in 2025?
Bell bottoms dominated the ‘60s, polyester the 70s, and in the 80s, spandex and lycra were king. And for the first decade of the new millennium, earth-friendly products have continued to create an eco-buzz. However, how green will the evolution of this trillion dollar sector be?
By the year 2025:
- Will clothes biodegrade?
- Will our outfits monitor our health?
- Will climate change refugees spread new fashion influences around the
world?
- Will a shortage of raw materials see us renting our clothes from
libraries?
- Will technological advances make it common to grow what we
wear?
