#NYFW Oscar de la Renta Fall 2010 Collection
Regardless of what’s going on in the global economy, elegance and opulence still reign supreme in Oscar de la Renta’s world. And we find his colorful vision to be quite refreshing. For Fall 2010 De la Renta brought out the metallics and brights will emerald, pumpkin, magenta and cinnamon adding a rich pop to the runway. Gold, champagne and gray adorned with beaded details made for incredible evening looks. Black was far from boring, with fine details woven in to each fabric making for a rich and textured variety. We spotted Rachel Zoe in the front row taking copious notes as each jaw dropping look passed by, which leads us to believe we expect to see some version of these design at the Academy Awards. And we must admit we are sort of jealous of whoever gets to wear these gowns first. ~Nola Weinstein

Floral silk georgette blouses, maxi dresses and skirts were naturally laid back. Overall Fall 2010 is quintessentially Ralph Lauren; looks are fit for suburban ladies and stylish urbanites who dream of a relaxing weekend upstate. Every time Ralph Lauren takes his bow at the end of a show we get slightly choked up. The emotional response is largely due to the fact that the Lauren clan always gives the iconic designer a standing ovation. This season was no exception as wife Ricky, daughter Dylan, son David and his girlfriend Lauren Bush cheered from the front row. Not a bad family to be a part of!

Agyness Deyn’s fall on the catwalk
Agyness Deyn was one of the models walking for Naomi Campbell’s “Fashion for relief Haiti show” in New York. Even though she’s a top model, she didn’t manage to walk in those ridiculously high heels : ) She doesn’t fall once, but twice before taking them off. I still want to give her credit for the big smile on her lips during this embarrassing moments.
Let It All Hang Down With Fringe This Fall
Last night at William Rast, Justin Timberlake and Trace Ayala gave their leather pieces a retro twist with tasseled trims. Fringe, it seems, is back. Everyone from Derek Lam to Nanette Lepore showed fall’s fringe benefits. Kate and Laura Mulleavy created their hand-knit pieces with a shaggy finish at Rodarte, while Milly channeled the thirties with a black and white flapper-style skirt. Tory Burch and Vera Wang added feathery new dimensions to black minis. And fringe doesn’t need to just have swing: Jill Stuart and Karen Walker used it to give structure to bold-shouldered knits.
